As of January 1st, 2027, Wilton Academy of Music will be located at 1011 Broadway Avenue
Dear Wilton Academy families:
We are excited to share some important news with you about the future of our music school!
Beginning January 1, 2027, Wilton Academy of Music will be operating in a new location at 1011 Broadway Avenue near 8th Street. This facility, previously the Yamaha School of Music, offers a much larger space with more rooms to expand our programming. We are quite excited to prepare it for our 2027 winter term.
This decision came about due to an unexpected announcement in late spring from St. John’s Cathedral, informing us that the building we are currently in has been sold, and that it is ultimately planned for demolition and redevelopment.
With no guarantee that we would be able to complete our 2026/27 music year, we began searching for a suitable new venue. We were fortunate to have found and secured a location that not only meets our current requirements, but also accommodates our growing need for expansion.
To ensure we have enough time to complete important renovations, our move is planned to happen over the Christmas break, keeping our class and lesson schedules uninterrupted.
Here are some of the benefits of our new Broadway location:
- Much more space for lessons and early childhood classes
- Convenient central location
- Free parking options throughout the surrounding area
- Secure building entrance, similar to what we have in our current location
- Larger, more functional environment that will allow us to better serve you with more options in the future
Most importantly, the things that make our school special will remain the same. Our teachers, programs, teaching approaches, and commitment to providing excellence in music education will continue.
We know that any change in location can bring questions, and we want to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone. Over the coming months, we will share more information about the new location, parking, entrances, and what you can expect when you arrive for lessons and classes in January.
We are genuinely excited about this next chapter in our music school. What began as an unexpected change has led us to a space that offers more possibilities and a wonderful opportunity for the future. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to St. John’s Cathedral for the wonderful venue they have provided to Wilton Academy for many years.
